Camera cleaning AE-1

I would like to send my AE-1 program canon camera in to be cleaned.  I cannot find this model number in the list to register it to create a service order.  I also cannot find a phone number or an email address to maybe talk to someone.  Any help would be appreciated.

Greetings,

The AE-1 was my first camera back in the late 70's.  It is no longer serviceable by Canon.  You'll have to find a local camera repair and be lucky enough to find one that has or can source parts needed for maintenance or repair.  The first thing that usually go on these cameras is the the foam surrounds that seal the body, door and case.  You might be able to find parts on eBay or USA camera.

If film is super important to you, you might be able to find an AE-1 on KEH.

Moving to mirrorless is another option.  You'll never miss a shot and you don't have to wait to see if you like the photo or not.

Hi laurelhammer!  Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. As Rick (shadowsports) noted, the AE-1 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you find a modern, digital replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!
