Black line issues on 5D mark III

Alfredoh

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with my Canon 5D Mark III: I’ve noticed a thin black line on my photos, and it also appears in Live View mode. Has anyone encountered this problem before and could help me understand what’s going on?

Thanks in advance!

To be clear, are you referring to the thin black line at the top of the image or the thick black line in the middle of the image?

Sorry for the confusion…

on the TOP.

If it happens in live view it is a bad sensor or readout chip.

It needs to be fixed/replaced.

Can you share a raw file? Use a filehost.

And can you tell me please what can i do for it?

If its really a bad sensor then its not worth it to replace the sensor. It would be best to look into a new camera body instead of replacing a bad sensor.

If the line is 1 px wide you can blacklist it in a raw converter and probably never notice it again. But you never shared a raw file so it is hard to know.
