Ad hoc wifi pairing on Surface Pro 4 with Windows 10

I'm not able to connect my Surface Pro 4 to the ad-hoc wifi network that I created in my Canon 70D. Windows sees the network, but it never gets connected, no matter if it has password or not. Any idea? I do can get connected using an infrastructure network, but I want to connect the camera directly to the Surface

That's very useful, but sadly you cannot create ad-hoc networks with the Surface because the Marvel adapter does not allow it. It can only work with Wifi direct, but it's not possible to configure one by oneself. The only way to create ad-hoc networks in Surface is by adding a usb wireless adapter that has that feature available.
