6D Mark II: Speedlite 430EX Buzzing Sound

’ve seen several forums about a buzzing sound but none of them seem to be having my issue. Every time I press the shutter halfway too focus the pre-flash flashes with a buzzing sound. This is the first time I’m experiencing this or at least I don’t remember hearing it. People have said that it’s something to do with “modeling” but that hasn’t helped. Is this normal? Please help (Camera: 6D Mark II)

That is the Focus Assist Beam.  It is normal to hear some sound.

The AFAB on a 430EX is not infrared?

The OP says that the flash makes the sound when it is doing a “pre flash.”

That's the modeling light and sound which is completely normal.  You must have the front button (DOF) somehow programmed as the flash modeling light.  You can turn that off I'm pretty sure.

I’ve reset my whole camera setting and I’ve even reset the flash settings. I’m okay with the modeling and the way it flashes when I’m trying to focus because it really helps in low light. I’m just worried about the sound I was thinking that maybe I broke something since the flash is new
