600D Shutter opens but won't close again

When I go to take a photo the shutter opens but will not shut again. Any ideas if I can sort this myself?

Try this: power off, remove battery, power on, press shutter button, replace battery.

Then try camera.

Are you sure that you haven't enabled mirror lockup, go into menu "C.fn III Autofocus drive" and make sure that mirror lockup is disabled.

Thanks... I gave that a go but it was disabled. 🙂

Does it close when you remove the battery?

Yes... once i turn the power off it shuts
