I have a 5D Mark iii and the LCD screen displays images that are almos cartoon-like or abstract after taking a picture or during playback. The pictures on the memory card are perfect though. Has anyone seen or heard of this before?
Thank you in advance.

Do you have the highlight/shadow warning turned on?

I found it and it was set to on but after changing it to disable I still have the same problem.

When something appears to be messed up but you don't recall changing any setting... it's a good idea to reset the camera back to factory defaults and test it after the reset.
If it's *still* showing wonky images, then there may be a problem and the camera might require service. Often (but not always), the "reset" clears the issue.

I already reset it, I guess a trip to canon is in my near future.
Thank you

"I already reset it, ..."
You didn't reset it completely if the grid pattern is still displayed.

Its been reset 3x, grid is there because I keep playing with the settings. I guess of all the things that can be wrong having to buy a new display isn't the worst.
