2 focusing areas - customizing EOS R6 Mark II

Hello,

I am setting up my R6 mkii and was wondering if the following was possible. Can you have 1 focus point on the shutter button and have a second but different focus point set up on one of the customizable buttons? this way you could switch back and forth between the 2 different focus points.

My favorite Canon was the Eos 3 with Eye-control focus (ECF). It allowed you to focus anywhere within the view finder by just looking at a point. By using a 2 focus point on the R6 mkii is more cumbersome than the Eos 3 it would be workable. Thank you.

Thanks again, Marc. I appreciate your response. I won't be shooting video either. I only bought the R6 mkii for it's low light capability. That way I won't need to carry my tripod as much. At 79 I'm not as spry as I used to be. Ahahaha.

I suggest setting up two custom shooting modes.  Reconfiguring the camera on the fly is one way to use them.

You'll love it for it's low light capabilities, anytime I am hiking in the woods it's my go to body with a fast lens. Waddizzle makes another good suggestion on using the custom functions. I use all three of mine each set up for a specific style of shooting. It's a great way to make a calculated quick change on the fly.
