Yes, all lenses that fit a Rebel XT will fit a Rebel T5. As has been explained elsewhere, there MAY be some operational issues if you have an older non-Canon lens. Since the third-party lens manufacturers have to reverse-engineer the electrical signal translations it is possible that there may be an incompatiblity with a newer camera.

If you are only using Canon lenses there is no issue to be concerned about.

The key is in the namimg.  Any lens marked EF or EF-S will work.  Most likely any new 3rd party lens will work but it could be hit and miss with older ones.
