The Canon PowerShot series have a fixed lens that is not detachable, so it will not accept other lenses.

EOS 1D, EOS 1D MK IIn, EOS 1D MK III, EOS 1Ds MK III, EOS 1D MK IV and EOS 1DX and many lenses.

We prefer that what gets flagged as the solution be the solution itself--the "try this" statement--rather than the follow-up where someone would claim that "it worked." We made sure that's the case here.
