ND filter with solar filter

Should I use a regular ND filter with a solar filter. Or just the solar filter

The proper solar filter is all you need.

I ordered ND filters online, which said they were safe to use for eclipse picture taking.  Now I find out there is a "solar" filter and if I use my ND filter I could damage my camera.  Words of wisdom are definitely needed here - I don't want to damage my camera, so I need to know if I use my ND 8 or a combination of ND8, ND4, and ND2 will my camera be safe and get damaged.
