I found a copy of EF500 f/4.5L USM.

What I am unable to find is a manual for this lens. Might anyone have a copy or know where one could be read?

Thanx ScottP, this link is for the f/4.0L.  My lens is f/4.5L.  This is the fore-runner of the f/4.0L.  My lens does not have IS.  I wasd able to find a copy on ManualsLink.com (sp?)

You have limited yourself in this search.  This lens was introduced in 1992 along with several other lenses.  The following lenses all enjoy the same manual.  Ef 200mm f/1.8L, EF 300 mm f/2.8L, EF 400 mm f/2.8L v. I & II,  EF 500 mm f/ 4.5 L, and the EF 600 mm f/ 4L.  I found it at "manualsink.com".  Great lens for sports shooting, it's nice and light and quick.  I like the lens for birds and anything else in motion.
