F0.95 Lens For A Canon T4i?

CuriousPR

Hello, everyone.  This is literally my first post on here.  I’m a veritable newbie, have a Canon T4i, am preparing to shoot a short film, and am wondering what the lowest f-stop I can get for a lens that would fit my Canon would be.

I saw the film  “Upstream Color”, thought it was absolutely beautifully-shot, and read that it was filmed on a Panasonic GH2 w/a lens that was f0.95 (!).  I looked online and found a “7artisans 35mm f0.95”, and a “Meike 35mm f0.95, but I don’t know if those lenses can fit a Canon T4i.

Can they?  Does anyone know of any f0.95 lens(es) that can fit or be adapted to fit on my Canon T4i?

Thanks very much in advance for all the responses.

Cheers!  🙂

You made my day. 😊 It is an interesting topic and I just glossed over it in layman terms but hopefully got the main most point across.

Since the help I received from you and “re-eos” (Ricky), I’ve decided to pay another visit to a local camera store nearby and ask them some more questions - this time armed with a slight bit more knowledge thanks to the information you guys provided.

Does it look like this particular lens would fit my Canon t4i?

In the “Compatible Mountings” section, it says “Canon EF” and the t4i has an EF mount, no?

Yes, it would be compatible with your camera (EF mount).  However, two things:

  • Best to purchase equipment from reputable dealers.  Amazon is not the best place to get electronics.
  • The Rokinon 35mm f/1.4 lens is a manual focus only lens (no auto focus).

Thanks much for this information and advice, Ricky.  Very much appreciated.  🙂
