Good Afternoon,
I have been researching the best way to clean my EF 55-300mm lens. Does anyone have any tips/suggestions so that I don’t do any damage? Also, do you have any recommendations on a good cleaning kit or products that I should use?
Thank you,
Dan

I personally mostly use the Lenspen DSLR Pro Kit, though am mindful of any special coatings on lenses or filters. e.g. to clean circular polarizer filters, I use Sensei Lens Cleaning Tissue Paper and not the FILTERKLEAR lens pen.

I tell folks to get one of the lens cloths from your eye doctor and their lens cleaning solution. That is easy and my doctor gives them to me for free. I also advise folks use a clear protecto filter of equal quality to their lens. It is far better to clean a cheaper filter than the more expensive lens front element. Keep in mind the dust or whatever on the front element of a lens is OOF so it generally won't appear in the photos. Of course this is not to say how much is too much because none is best.
