Am I beyond help? This camera I purchased overseas(don't ask how) and when I got it this switch was missing. I had no recourse as to seller so I placed it in the camera lens bag and tried to find a switch and how or if I could replace it. Any chance it could be done fairly inexpensively or should I just try to sell it as is for something? Thanks for any help you could give me. Jim

I would use a little screwdriver and slide the switch to the full side, put some tape over the hole and not worry about it, though given the shape it is in, it might have other issues.
Note that modern 100mm macros with IS are much more useful.

Thank you for your prompt reply, I might give that a go. Here is the lens I got recently to replace that one. I am not a camera guy it turns out and ready to shovel the whole mess. lol Jim
