what paper to use with ip8720 for fine art print

Hi, new to art print and a bit confused about what archival paper goes with it.

Looked into a few paper options from best paper for art print list, all thicker than the allowed 200 g /m2

Found some photo papers that goes with it, such as red river. is it ok use glossy photo paper to print digital non-photography art? What I originally had in mind was a somewhat thick matte paper.

Any other canon budget art printer you have used that works well in printing high-resolution colorful images on different paper weight? is tr8620 not high-res enough?

Appreciate any input.

Hi, canonym!

You mention one model in your post title, the PIXMA iP8720, and a different model model in the post itself, namely the PIXMA TR8620.  As the two printers' specifications may vary, it would help the Community to know exactly which printer we're talking about.

Thanks and have a great day!

Hi Danny, thanks for pointing it out. I'm concerned about i8720 which I just got and I've already checked the supported media page. I'd like to hear if anyone use it for prints besides photo and what paper they find suitable. Otherwise I need to get another printer.

Look at the Pro-200 or Pro-300.
