Hi cellist,

IJ Scan Utility is bundled with the printer driver, and should already be installed on your computer.

  1. Press the Windows Search button in the lower left of your screen.

  2. Type "IJ Scan Utility" in the search box.

  3. Open IJ Scan Utility.

  4. Place your original.

  5. Press the "ScanGear" button.

  6. Press "Preview."

  7. If you are happy with the image, press "Scan" to complete the operation.

Are you able to acquire an image?

Hello.

The TS8120 is able to scan to a computer with our IJ Scan Utility program.  If you are using an iOS or Android device, you can scan with our free Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app.

Hi.

Thanks for your reply.

Where can I get  IJ Scan Utility program?

Phil.

Using Google and searching canon scan utility, I found the following Canon article

https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/
printers/inkjet-multifunction/ts-series-inkjet/pixma-ts8120-black-
wireless-all-in-one-inkjet-printer/pixma-ts8120?tab=drivers_downloads

I downloaded the file and ran the setup. No shortcut was created, so I don't know
what to execute to bring up the tool.

I found the folowing executable files:

in C:\Program Files\Canon\Canon IJ Printer Assistant Tool\
cnmpase.exe
cnmpaui.exe

I found the same files in C:\Program Files\Canon\
Canon IJ Printer Assistant Tool\x86\

cnmpaui.exe shows the following. I don't see anything that refers to the scan utility.

canon untility package mpnp cnmpaui.JPG

That did it. On my system the program is named SCANUTIL.

Thanks. Phil.
