printer issue with ink cartridges

When I lift the lid, my ink cartridges won't slide over. Help!

Do you mean the inks don't look like this when you open the cover?

They do not slide all the way to the left like they normally do. I cannot see all of them.

And they are not lighted up.

I don't have a known solution for you, but this sometimes works.

Power down the printer and remove power cable from wall socket. Wait about 30 minutes and plug back in.

No, it's still doing the same thing.

In that case, give the Canon support line a call. I have always found them very helpful.
