print spooler problem with iX6800 but not MP620

Win 10 64bit on Dell Inspiron.

I have both an iX6800 and Mp620 printer on this computer. The problem is ONLY with the iX6800. I have to restart the print spooler each time I want to print.

I do not have to with the MP620 regardless of which printer was previously used.

I deleted the driver for the iX6800 then downloaded and installed a new one from the Canon site. Same problem.

Any help will be appreciated.

• Which printer is selected as the default?
• Which port is each printer on?
