need help printing on glossy photo paper

Hi! I have a pixma mg2500 printer and wanted to pint out some photos so I bought the 8.5x11 glossy photo paper. However, when I select the glossy photo paper and then the letter size it tells me it cannot print. Someone help because i've spent alot of time and money on this and would really like the photos to print. I tried printing with the setting on plain paper but the black ink just rubs off on my fingers so please help!

Hello. 

The MG2500 series printers can only print on photo papers with 4x6 or 5x7 sizes.  For letter (8.5x11) sized paper, plain paper would have to be used.

That is incredibly stupid since it works if i hit plain paper but the ink smudges. but whatever thanks for the help.

if you print it on glossy paper on the plain paper setting do it dry so it wont smudge
