Hi gsecondez, I will gladly assist you.

The 'U052' error refers to the Print Head which holds your ink cartridges.  It indicates that the Print Head may not be fully seated, however this can be easily checked by removing the Print Head and reinstalling it.

To help with the procedure, you can click the following link to access the step-by-step FAQ Article: "LCD error messages (MP530)" on the Canon USA product page for your multifunction printer.  Once reaching the site, just input the Article name in the FAQ Search box to retrieve the information.

I did as instructed and to correct the error but the error still exist what else can I do to eliminate the error

Hi Cartwright01,

It is recommended that you contact live technical support . There is NO charge for this call. Real time feedback of a live technical support call would be very beneficial in this case.

Please dial 1-866-261-9362, Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. ET (excluding holidays). A Canon technical support representative will be able to resolve this issue faster.

I tried everything, even followed YouTube videos on how to clean the print head, nothing worked!

I ended up buying a new print head on-line, got it in today, installed it, no more error message, at all.

Costs around $32.00 or so, for the new print head.

I really like this printer, BUT, I sure wish there was a way to do "gray-scale" printing ONLY on it.  I don't have a need for color printing when I'm printing out scans of receipts for my expense reports.

Is there any way possible to make the darned printer print in gray-scale?
