I tried to print, but the paper won't load.  It seems to kick it back up  instead of pulling it into the printer

any ideas?

Hi Slrdar446! Thanks for posting in the Canon Community Forum. I see that your PIXMA TS3522 is not feeding paper.

Before you start troubleshooting, please make sure that you see the correct paper size on the bottom half of the printer’s display (little screen on the printer). If you are loading regular letter-size copy paper, you need to see the letters LTR in the bottom half of the screen. If you need to change the paper size, please use the Paper Select button (paper symbol) located below the display to find the correct size, and then press the OK button to select that size. If you had to correct the size, please try printing. Please make sure the correct paper size and type is selected at the computer or mobile device before starting the print job.

If the displayed paper size is already correct and you are trying to print on something other than plain copy paper, please try loading plain copy paper and printing. If you are already using plain copy paper or if the printer is not feeding that paper, please pull the paper out and look inside the tray for any objects that may have fallen in and/or gotten stuck (like a pencil, pen, or paper).

After you make sure that there are no obstructions in the tray, please leave the tray empty. Then, make sure that you see a steady number 0 in the top right corner of the printer’s display (little screen on the printer). If you see an error code flashing, please restart the printer. If the error comes back after restarting the printer, please write back and provide the code that you see. For example, it may be flashing E,0,3 or P,0,2.

If there is no error in the top right corner of the display, I recommend that you perform the roller cleaning option that is built into the printer. Please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure that the paper tray is still empty.
  2. Press the button with the tools symbol repeatedly and stop when you see the number 7 in the top right corner of the printer’s display.
  3. When you see the number 7 blinking on the display, press the Black START button (diamond shaped button in the lower left of the operation panel).
  4. When you hear the noises stop, the number 7 will start flashing again. Press the Black START button again to clean the rollers a second time.
  5. When the noises stop and you see the number 7 blinking, press the Black START button a third time to clean the rollers one last time (without paper loaded).
  6. When the noises stop and you see the number 7 blinking, load three sheets of plain copy paper and adjust the paper tray to match the width of the paper.
  7. Press the Black START button a third time to clean the rollers one time (with paper loaded).
  8. All three sheets should feed through (one at a time).
  9. When you are done, press the STOP button (circular shaped button with the triangle symbol located above the Start buttons).

If all three sheets feed through, please load some more paper and make sure the guides are still adjusted properly. Then, try printing. When you print, please make sure that the correct paper settings (type and size) are selected on your computer or mobile device. If the roller cleaning does not help and you are unable to print on plain copy paper, you are dealing with a mechanical issue. Please write back if you see an error code blinking in the printer’s display. The code will begin with a letter E or P and end with two numbers.

If you are not seeing an error, I recommend contacting Canon support. If you have not done so, please create a My Canon account and register the printer so you can contact support via chat or phone. If you have already registered your printer, you can sign into your account to check your support options.

Please use the following link to create or open your account:

https://myprofile.americas.canon.com/us/signin

After you create your account and register the printer, you can click on SERVICE & SUPPORT (in the left column). Then, click on the red box that says GET SERVICE & SUPPORT (on the right side of the page) to find information on the phone and chat support options.

If the printer is no longer in warranty, it may be more cost effective to purchase a replacement. Through our Canon Upgrade Program, we can offer you a discount and free shipping on a new printer if the warranty is expired. If you are interested in that, please call (866) 443-8002 from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. (Eastern Time), Monday through Saturday to speak with one of our sales agents who would be happy to help you.

I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing Canon.
