Hello JayDee,
Canon does not provided a driver for the iP1600 that supports your current operating system. To install your printer on Windows 7 (x64), please follow the following steps below:
1. Click the Start button, Devices & Printers.
2. Click Add a printer.
3. In the Add Printer Wizard, select Add a local printer.
4. On the Choose a printer port page, make sure that the Use an existing port option button and the recommended printer port are selected, and then click Next.
5. On the Install the printer driver page, click Windows Update, and then wait while Windows downloads the available drivers.
6. Complete the additional steps in the wizard, and then click Finish.
The printer will be installed. Then you can download and install the Add-On Module for your Pixma iP1600 from our website.

5. On the Install the printer driver page, click Windows Update, and then wait while Windows downloads the available drivers.
On your reply below, where is this number 5 explanation instruction. There is no PRINTER DRIVE PAGE, when following your instructions. Once we reach the item 4, there is a page to SELECT THE PRINTER or insert the disk. The Canon ip1600 does not appear when using Windows 7.
Could you make it clear where exactly is the Printer driver Page when following your directions? Thanks in advance.
Carlos
