Win 10 scanning - MX 922

Just got a new Win 10 computer.  Didn't have to do anything for my MX 922 printer and fax to show up in Printers and Devices - great.  But when I tried to scan from the MX 922 control panel, it said "Set the PC to start scanning"  I then realized that, while I went through the machines settings to recognize my LAN settings, I can't figure out how to change the option at the top, which currently reads "PC / Local (USB)" to the proper LAN setting.

Anyone know how to do this?

Update...

I found my original (Windows 7) installation CD.  I went through the installation process, but I keep getting an error message "Canon IJ Driver Installer has stopped working".  I think it's the IJ Driver that will set up scanning for me.  I've been through the setup screens on the printer to "Change wireless/wired", but still my only scan option is to "PC/Local (USB)".  And I don't have a USB plugged in - I have ethernet plugged in.  I printed the Network Configuration Page, and it says that both Wireless LAN and Wired Lan are inactive.  I tried to Reset LAN settings.  I tried Confirm LAN settings, and it shows that the connection is Active.

Help!?!

Hi ericbro,

Uninstalling the network port and printer driver and reinstalling them will resolve this issue.  To do this, please follow these steps:

 1.  Put the PIXMA MX922's CDROM in the CDROM drive.  If the welcome screen appears, exit it.

 2.  Click on Start and then All Apps.

 3.  Click on Windows System.

 4.  Click on RUN.

 5.  Click Browse. In the Browse window, click on the CANON_IJ CDROM.

 6.  Double click the folder named WIN.

 7.  Double click the folder named Driver.

 8.  Double click the folder named DrvSetup.

 9.  Double click the file named DELDRV.  If you are using the 64 bit version of Windows 10, please double click DELDRV64.

10.  In the Run box click OK and follow the on-screen prompts to remove the driver.

Once complete, please follow these steps:

I'm using a PIXMA MX479 and these instructions didn't work.

This worked like a champ. It would probably be easier to print this page before you start but my PC is now one of the options on the printer panel to scan to and it wasn't before.
