Why is my printing smudging in the middle?

Limit

Hello,

I have the Canon G4200 pixma printer. Roughly about a week and a half ago I started having trouble with my printer. The text becomes blurry and smudgey! I tried using the maintenance features to see if that would fix this issue but it has not. These are the following things I tried: cleaning feature x 8, deep cleaning x 10 , system cleaning x 1 , print head alignment x 4, nozzle check x 3, and bottom plate cleaning x 3. I used so much paper just to check if anything would help and also for consistency. I will provide a link to image of how the text looks! Hopefully someone could shed some light on what could be the problem. Also, since my printer has an ink tank I'm able to see the level of the ink which is approximately around 88% filled, so it can't be my ink level.

I printed around 30 or so pages and they all look like this from the previous maintenance features I previously mentioned.

Hi Limit,

Cleaning the encoder strip should resolve the smudging that you are experiencing.  To do this, please follow the steps provided in the article below:

https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART170551

I am still getting the same smudging after cleaning the encoder thoroughly as the article instructed. I tried to go ahead and do a deep system clean for the second time to no avail. Is there something else that could be done?

Hello.  I have the same problem with my Black printhead even after flushing the printhead with cleaning fluid.  Did you find a resolution to this problem?
