Hello!
I am having troubles with my printer and scanner. It is a wireless Canon MG5300, and I, primarily, use it to scan my artwork. I run a 2009 Macbook Pro, with Mac OS X 10.9.2 . After my family's router died, we had to get a new one. Ever since then, my scanner hasn't worked, and I feel really upset by that.
Here's what happens:
When I boot up my printer, I go into Adobe Photoshop Elements, and I select File>Import>Canon MG5300 Series... When I do that, I get a pop-up message that says, "Cannot scan for these reasons: -Scanner is turned off. -USB cable is disconnected. Please check and try again. Scanner driver will be closed. 2.156.0" When I hit okay, I get another message that says, "Could not complete the Import command because there is no scanner installed." When I go to select my scanner, it won't let me. The text is light grey.
I didn't uninstall my scanner, so I don't know why it is acting this way. I misplaced both the installation CD, and the USB cable. When I went to install the driver off of Canon's website, my scanner wasn't listed. I don't know if they discontinued it, or what.
I would be very appreciative of any help! Thank you!
