Trying to print a document from the rear tray, and I get the paper media type does not match, error code 4102. I have the printer media type set to auto. Why is it not working? Also, I kept printing from the front tray, wasting a lot of ink on regular paper. How do I prevent this!

Hi gvccrlm,
Please make sure that your printer is set to the correct size and type of paper that is loaded.
To do this, please follow these steps:
1. Please turn your PIXMA TS8820 on.
2. Tap the gear icon at the bottom of your TS8820's display.
3. Tap Feed settings.
Please tap Rear tray paper settings to make sure that the size and type of paper listed match what you have loaded.
Once you have checked that, please also check the Cassette paper settings.
You may also tap Paper settings mismatch (Other) at the bottom and then select Disable.
Once you have performed those things, please attempt to print.
If the error returns, please contact one of Canon's Technical Support Representatives for assistance with resolving this issue. To contact a Technical Support Representative, please use the link below to log into your My Canon account:
