How does the paper tray retract all the way ?

I need to make the tray go in the last 2 inches so I can box it up and ship it. Didn't want to strong arm it.

Hi hodson1951,
You can push the paper output tray the rest of the way so you can close the operation panel and pack up the printer.
If the paper output tray would push in the rest of the way for the operation panel to close, then troubleshooting with our support group will be needed to narrow down the cause of your issues. Please contact our support group at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666), Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM EST(excluding holidays).

Check page 99 of your manual. Should offer insight.
