TR8620a – How to Scan Large Document in Sections into Single PDF

I have a Canon TR8620a and a large document of about 100 pages that won’t fit in the ADF (which only holds around 30 to 40 pages). I’d like to scan it in multiple batches using the feeder, but have it saved as one single PDF file, not multiple PDFs. I'm on Windows 10 64bit

Is there a way to do this using the IJ Scan Utility or another Canon tool? I don’t see a “PDF” scan button in my IJ Scan Utility — only Auto, Document, Photo, Custom, OCR, Stitch, ScanGear, and PDF Editor. I've already reinstalled the full MP driver and utility (md__-win-tr8600_tr8630-1_05-ea34_2.exe), but the PDF button still isn't there.

Duh! Load Canon IJ Scan Utility and click on the PDF Editor button. Then in top menu, click on second icon from the left (it's called Scan originals as documents). Then after each section scan, click it icon again until all sections are scanned. Then click on File > Save As.
