TR4520 Will Print Alignment page but nothing from iMac

No mater what page or application I choose, the printer will not actually print. It goes through the motions, as if it is printing, but a blank page is all that comes out. I have printed an alignment page using the printer itself, so it will print, just not any page from the computer. Not sure what has changed recently.

So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which Canon printer model you're using within the PIXMA TR4500 printer series.  The model number should be on the front of the printer at the upper right.  That, and any other details you'd like to give, such as the macOS version running on your iMac, will help the Community better understand your issue!

After a lot of trial, I think the printer is dying. I have tried printing from the iPad, and have the same results. I've run all of the cleaning and alignment utilities, and put in a new black ink cartridge. Pages may print some off-color banners, but no text, even when I elect black only. Seems that there just aren't any good printer options on the market any more.

If text is not printing, I recommend a nozzle cleaning and deep cleaning if the first cleaning did not resolve the issue. 

If no text prints after the nozzle cleanings, the printer would require service. Ithe printer is in it's 1 year warranty, I recommend reaching out to Canon support for your warranty options. You will need to register your Canon gear HERE to access additional support options.

If the printer is out of warranty, you would qualify for the Canon Upgrade program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service or are incompatible with a new or upgraded system.
