How can I make a document scanned from a Canon Pixma MG7520 machine on a MAC computer with El Capitan OS editable?

Hi don4sail,

To make a document scanned in using the printer editable, we recommend scanning the document in as a PDF format, then opening the PDF file, selecting all of the text in the document and copying it, then pasting it into a word processing or other editing program of your choice to make the modifications.  Please note that any original formattting contained in the original document will not be retained.

Thank you for the response, however it does not work. I can get what looks to be a perfect replica of the scanned document but when pasted into any one of three word processors I cannot edit them. The cursor becomes a hand that only moves the entire document like an image.

Any mor suggestions?
