Recycling ink cartridges

Hello,

I would like to recycle my Canon ink cartridges.  Does anyone know how or where a person can recycle ink cartridges?

Thanks

Hi there!

Check out https://canon.us/recycling to learn about all of the different recycling programs available.

The Manager for all the Tulsa Oklahoma area FedEx stores tells me that the Canon website is incorrect.  FedEx (at least in Tulsa) does NOT recycle Canon ink cartridges, and never has done so.  I wasted an entire afternoon, trying to send back a box of empty Canon ink cartridges, before I was able to speak to the manager.

I just recently (February 2025) went to a Fed Ex to recycle 14 cartridges and they said they no longer take them. I wish #Cannon would update their website to reflect who will actually take these.

What kind of cartridges? Staples will accept many kinds. If you have a Staples account you get $2 credit for each one.

No Stephen, FedEx does not accept them.  I have gone to 4 Fedex stores/offices/shipping centers.  They laughed at me.  They won't tough them.

What now?

I searched for FedEx Print and Ship locations and found one near my work. I called and they said they do not accept Canon ink cartridges for return. I asked what locations do accept them. The person connected me with someone at corporate, who said (emphatically) that no FedEx location anywhere accepts Canon cartridges. I have a drawer full of used 42 series cartridges. Help.

Staples will accept. There is also a market for them on eBay for folks that refill.
