How to I print just in black and white for just a normal litter from my MG5550 without colour ink, as I keep getting and error ink empty !! I do have low on 2 colours but I only want to print a letter.

Hi Delbak,
All ink tanks will need to be installed in the printer in order to print, even if some of the inks are low or out of ink.
If the printer is displaying an ink low or empty error, you can temporarily disable the ink level detection function of the printer so that you can print and use the other functions of the printer until you are able to replace the low ink tanks. To do this, please press and hold down the STOP/RESET or RESUME/CANCEL button on the printer for at least 5 seconds, then release it. You will need to do this, procedure for each ink tank that is showing it is low or out of ink. Once the low ink is replaced with Canon genuine ink tanks, the ink level detection function of the printer will be re-enabled.
