Printing on cardstock?

Brewerpaul

We just got a Pixma G6020 and will occasionally want to print on light card stock. I know that's not listed as one of the types of paper to be used, but a great many people in reviews say they print on card stock frequentl.

I know it needs to go into the rear photo paper slot. What paper setting should I use, since card stock is not one of the listed options? Any other suggestions?

Greetings,

Using unsupported media can yield different results.

For card stock, you can try inserting one piece at a time into the manual feeder.  Some stocks may work better than others.  Some might not work at all.  Paper settings are important.  They tell the printer how much ink to disperse depending on the paper type.  You will have to experiment until you find what settings work best with the unsupported media type you are using.

I got a picture to print on cardstock yesterday, but it was very light and all washed out. I'm guessing I need to keep trying, with other paper settings?

Actually, I printed a picture on the photo paper that came with the printer, and that came out much lighter than the actual picture. How do I fix that?
