Pixma TS8320 - squeaky roller

RSKadish
Apprentice

Hello all,

After having my Pixma TS8320 for only a few weeks, I now have a squeaky roller.  It makes noise when drawing paper from either the cassette or rear tray and when performing it's self-cleaning routine after each print.  Other than that, the printer is working just fine.

I've already run the cleaning routine on both rollers.  Any other suggestions or ideas?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

- Steve

Greetings,

3 choices (possible solutions).

Graphite spray

White lithium grease

Replace the roller (Canon might even send you one if you call)

If you go the spray or grease route, use a Q-Tip or toothpick to apply.  Less is more, doesn't take much to fix a squeak.

HI Rick,

Thanks for the suggestions.  As I said it's a pretty new printer.  Would I be correct to assume that lubricating the roller myself would void the warrantee?

Best regards,

- Steve

Greetings,

If you can open a panel or remove a tray and see the roller, no.  Call Canon, it migh be a user replaceable part.  If not and you can dab a tiny amount inside to stop a squeak, do it.  Don't drip or glob anything in there and you'll be fine.  Warranty in tact, no harm.

HI Rick,

Thanks. I will definitely give Canon a call!
