I have a PIXMA TS 8220 printer and am generally happy. Just in the last two days it will not print without skipping lines/ and leaving white gaps between lines, every 1/2 inch or so. Seems like this has something to with the encoder strip, which I can see on one end but not all the way across to clean it. I do not see how you would replace it, and when you open the printer top, it is covered by a black plastic cover which makes it inaccessible. I do not see how to replace the encoder strip anywhere for this model, nor am I sure that is the problem anyway. I have tried to print from multiple devices so I know the problem is in the printer, not the software. I did have a paper jam recently so, based on what I have seen online, it seems likely the strip may have grease on it. I did clean the part I could see with a alcohol and a swab, but I want to be able to clean the entire length. Any suggestions.?
