I have a Mac computer and a Pixma MX492. I refilled my ink cartridges and now my printer will not print anything with black ink from the cartridges. I've tried "priming" the cartridges and holding the stop button to reset ink levels, which doesn't work. Any ideas? I'll buy a printer that's not a Canon and accepts refilled ink if there is no solution.

Hi beck68,
Canon recommends that new genuine Canon cartridges are used in order to obtain optimum printing qualities.
Using new Canon ink cartridges in your PIXMA MX492 will resolve this issue.

Open the cartridge door and hold down the power button. Unplug the printer, plug it in after a few seconds while still holding down the power button. Close the cartridge door and release the power button. The ink cartridge is now reset and your black ink should now work.
