Pixma MP240 gives message 'failed to open a connection to the device (-21345)

Hello!

my Pixma MP240 gives message 'failed to open a connection to the device (-21345) when attempting to scan. This printer/scanner has worked well for many years, but will not scan (still prints fine) now that I have upgraded to a new mac running Monterey 12.0.1. This printer/scanner is NOT wifi equipped, I just use a USB cable.

Any ideas on a fix?

Hi 2777FrankM,

The PIXMA MP240 is not supported with macOS v12 Monterey.  The last version of OSX that was supported was OSX v10.9 Mavericks.

You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.
