Pixma MG5420 - Photo colors print very different when printed using different programs

Using Canon Pixma MG5420 inkjet.  Interesting that the print colors using Canon Easy Photo Print EX software are very off, but when I print the very same photo from freeware IrfanView program, colors look perfect.  Wouldn't it be using the same driver?? Any troubleshooting ideas or suggestions?
