PIXMA MG2922 Can't download driver to computer, phone app can't find printer

I'm having a nightmare of a time with this printer. I cannot connect to my work computer because I don't have admin rights to download the driver. I downloaded the app to my phone, but it can't locate the printer. Any ideas? The printer is listed under the WIFI on my phone but its asking for a password that I don't have. I was connected to my old laptop at one point, but only because it wasn't admin protected, now they are and I won't be able to bypass that step.

The printer default password is canon or it is the serial number on the printer.

I'm not completely clear on the connection method you want to use?

The printer can be used with or without a wireless network.  Meaning you can connect it to a wireless router and any device connected to the same network will be able to use the printer.  Or, the printer allows wireless direct which allows one device to connect to it to print.  Wireless direct does not require a wireless network or router.  

Which connection method are you trying to use?
