I have a Pixma G7000 series printer (G7065) that has suffered at the hands of an unqualified "serviceman'. As a result two pieces associated with print head cleaning became detached. I have reattached one of them, the wiper blade arm, but I am unsure of the correct orientation of the second piece, which sits in front of the print head in the home position. I am unsure of the function of this piece, which is hinged to a metal bracket, accompanied by a very delicate spring. If anyone can assist me with the function or orientation I would be grateful.

BTW, I think it unlikely that this part is unique to my model printer, which is why I headed my post 'G7000 series'. The part number is QC5 5891. So I hope it isn't the U.S. version of Canon's Unhelpfulness policy that is preventing you from assisting me with a simple request to understand this part's function and orientation.
