Lately I have been having trouble with file access for some applications. For instance Windows Explorer takes a very very long time to boot and show me files.
This problem seems to have affected my printer, which now takes 15 minutes to print a single page. It just sits pending for that time, then says printing for several minutes, then out comes the print.
My hard drives are only half full.
Any ideas why this is happening?
Thanks!

Solved the problem by running Windows System File Check (SFC): https://goo.gl/XpKLcz

Hi, quinet!
To provide some context for the community, we need to know exactly which Canon printer model you're using. We should also point out that the link you posted doesn't appear to work. Could you please double-check that?
Thanks and have a great day!

OK, it seems the forum is not accepting links shortened by Google so here is the long form:

I have Pixma MX 870 with Windows 8.1 4mb computer that is working fine. If I turn the printer on and print one item, it usually works without too much delay. However, if a few minutes later, I attempt to print a second item (not necessarily via the same app), it can sit there for a full 15 minutes, questioning in an error message whether it is even connected, before it prints. How do I stop this ridiculous delay?

Hello everyone,
I have face the same problem. I had purchase the Canon MG7520 printer in November 2020 and it is extremely frustrating sometimes when you need quick print. Inspite of that, it takes a long time to respond.

Hi ognesty,
What version of Windows is installed on your computer?
If you are using a Mac, what version of OSX is installed?
You are using your PIXMA MX7520 wirelessly, correct?
