I just bought a Canon IX6820 printer and it will not print on my envelopes. I have tried two different types of material, and the computer will not pick it up.
I have followed the instructions on adjusting the settings to include the size of the envelope (7inchx5inch), and have even changed the media type to "Envelope". I have tried printing from word, a PDF and directly only, and all three will not let me print on the envelopes.
I am so frustrated and about to return this printer.

Hi - it is the macOS Ventura 13.6.1.
Not only does it not print on my envelopes, when it prints on regular paper, there is black smudge marks all over it.

Greetings,
I did something similar, 15 yrs ago. We purchased beautiful templates on Etsy. I bought card stock and envelopes online. I chose the font and created the invitations, card with directions / schedule, names of our wedding party (we had 12), reply cards and both envelops. I used clear laser labels with a calligraphy font. Saved about $1200 and they looked pro. I used MS Word for everything. Heavy weight card stock that had nice fibers in the paper. If you are seeing smudges, make sure you are not using paper with a weight that exceeds the weight the printer is rated for. You can also look for maintenance settings, called "bottom plate cleaning" and "reduce paper abrasion"
Congratulations and Best Wishes!
Make sure you have fun!!
