I purchased this printer in 2018 and it has been working fine until the other day I tried to print and this error code 1403 popped up. I have gone through all the suggestions online  incldsing printhead adjustment but the error code keeps popping up and i can no longer print from this printer.  Any suggestions?

Only ones you may have found yourself:

Error code 1403 on the Canon PIXMA iX6820 typically indicates a problem with the printhead. This error can occur due to overheating or a malfunctioning printhead.

Steps to Clear Error Code 1403

1. Check the Printhead

  • Reinstall the Printhead: Remove the printhead and reinstall it. Ensure it is seated correctly.
  • Clean Contact Pads: Use isopropyl alcohol to clean the contact pads on the printhead and the printer. Dirty contacts can cause recognition issues.

2. Power Cycle the Printer

  • Basic Restart: Turn off the printer, unplug it, wait for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Soft Reset: If available, use the printer menu to perform a soft reset.

3. Inspect for Damage

  • Check for Overheating: If the printhead is overheating, allow it to cool down before attempting to use the printer again.
  • Look for Physical Damage: Inspect the printhead for any visible damage that may require replacement.
