PIXMA iP2820 Windows 11 Compatibility

Hi,

I just upgraded two of my computers to Windows 11. I don't recall how I installed my PIXM iP2820 on either, but it was installed and working on both. Suddenly, it's not working on one of the computers and I cannot get it installed. It shows up as "Driver is unavailable." I cannot remove the device and have to go through a convoluted process to remove the driver, software etc. because Windows 11 is SO user friendly. When I finally get it uninstalled, I cannot reinstall it. When I use the driver downloaded from the Canon website (pd68-win-ip2800-2_75-ejs.exe), it never finds the printer and times out. Then I'm stuck with the same driver unavailable message. When I try to install the printer via Windows, it cannot find it. I know this printer works in Windows 11 because it's working fine on another similar (almost the same) computer. I have lots of screen shot, but I don't see the option to add those.

I should also mention that when I uninstall the driver form the "Print Server Properties" in Windows 11, I get an error stating "Failed to remove package ip28006.inf.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated. I need my printer and this is driving me insane!

Thanks!

UM

Thank you for your prompt response, Stephen, but that's not the answer I'm looking for. You will get bonus points from the marketing and sales teams, however.

I figured out how to make it work on my own. Thank you, Canon community and experts, for your outpouring of support, and all the answers and suggestions you provided. What would I have done without you!?!?!

How were you able to fix the issue? I've been having this same problem and have not found a way to get my printer to work again with Windows 11.
