PIXMA TS9521C Won't Recognize New Magenta Cartridge


I have had my printer for a few months, and i just replaced most of the ink cartridges. Everything is ok except for the magenta cartridge. I have inserted and re-inserted it quite a few times. Mostly i am getting an X over the cartridge name (which i'm assuming means it's empty) Only once did it actually register that the cartridge was replaced, but then it switched to an X again. This is a new cartridge, but it seems like it's empty. Has anyone encountered this problem, or know how to deal with this? Thanks!
