I have this issue as well. I have purchased a adapter so I could plug in the printer to my Mac. After moving things around my office, turns out the driver installed is newer than the update. So, to recap; the 2 black cartridges are full, heads are cleaned, and the drivers are more than current. Still NO BLACK Printing!!!

Hello, and welcome to the Canon Community!
If you've changed your connection from WiFi to USB, you'll want to go to https://canon.us/TS9521Csetup and follow the steps to fully uninstall and reinstall the Canon software and drivers.
Once you've done that, try printing a test page. The only place your printer will print true black will be text from word processing-type apps, so you'll want to try using Word, TextEdit, Notes, etc.
If you can show us the results, that will be helpful!

I was following the instructions to update drivers. After searching online, it was suggested that that could be the issue why the printer was not printing with the black ink. One of the steps required that the printer be connected to the computer with a USB cable. I absolutely don't want to print using a USB cable on a WiFi printer . I am at the end of any and all suggestions. Please help
This is a photo of an invoice that I just printed. It's a pdf. I have same issues with photo's, jpegs, spreadsheets, documents etc. They all look funny without black ink.

If you have the software installed using the link I gave you, follow the instructions HERE. If that doesn't work, you may want to explore your support options at https://canon.us/account

I do not need to update drivers. The drivers are up to date. That is not the reason the black ink is not printing on any files.
