I have a Canon TS8220, printer and scanner all in one. Have had it since Dec 2019. Up until recently it worked wonderful, and some days it still does. It prints from computer or phone fine. Using the scanning feature to send to computer works fine too. Its only when I scan a document to just make a copy without using the computer it has an issue from time to time. I use the preview option and it shows that it scanned half the document correctly while the other half is solid black. I have cleaned the glass top, I keep a piece of onion skin type paper on it for scratch prevention, and it gives me no trouble. My document is always flat, no folds etc. I have tried turning it off and on. Unplugging power and plugging back in. Both of these on the days it acts up, and it still scans the same. But the next day, it will work fine. I have it on a level surface. No one is allowed to touch it but me, so its not abused in any way.. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
It would appear that your PIXMA TS8220 would require service. You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.
