PIXMA TS7720 How to set up with no internet

poolshark
Apprentice

Hello:

I have a computer specifically used to run AutoCad.  It has no internet connectivity, running Win 7 x64.  I have copied the mas2-win-104_0_0-ea34_2.exe, extracted all files within and ran .msi.  I am trying to install software for  TS7720.

When I finally got the installer to run, it fails because I have no internet, which is why I went to all this trouble in the first place.  I really need to print an autocad drawing sooooo.....

PLEASE HELP

thank you so much

Took some doing but it worked once I changed the port setting.  Thanks so much!

BTW...why isn't this installer listed on Canon's website (or maybe it is & I just didn't see it)?

Thanks again

I suggest using a usb cable to connect your printer, since you downloaded the software just run the program you copied over, do not connect the printer until asked to do so by the program. :

To install the Canon PIXMA TS7720 using a USB cable without internet access, connect the printer directly to your computer with the USB cable. Then, use the Canon Print app to complete the installation process.

Connecting the Canon PIXMA TS7720 via USB Without Internet

Requirements for USB Connection

  • USB Cable: Ensure you have a compatible USB cable to connect the printer to your computer.
  • Printer Drivers: Download the latest drivers from Canon's official website if you haven't done so already.

Steps to Install the PIXMA TS7720

  1. Connect the Printer:

    • Plug one end of the USB cable into the printer and the other end into your computer.
  2. Power On the Printer:

    • Turn on the PIXMA TS7720.
  3. Install Drivers:

    • If you haven't installed the drivers yet, run the downloaded driver installation file on your computer.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
  4. Add Printer on Mac:

    • Open System Settings.
    • Go to Printers & Scanners.
    • Click on Add Printer.
    • Select the PIXMA TS7720 from the list and click Add.
  5. Test the Connection:

    • Print a test page to ensure the printer is working correctly.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Direct Connection: If you experience issues, try connecting the printer directly to a USB port on your computer instead of through a USB hub.
  • Reinstall Drivers: If the printer is not recognized, uninstall and reinstall the drivers.
  • Check USB Cable: Ensure the USB cable is functioning properly and securely connected.

By following these steps, you should be able to install and use your Canon PIXMA TS7720 printer without needing an internet connection.

Printer is plugged in, ran master setup, clicked "start setup" and get....

Download Failed

Check your current network connection, and then try again

Greetings,

Please start here.

Disconnect the USB cable from your computer.

Remove the printer from printers and scanners if an instance is present.  In Windows 7, you can get there by visiting the control panel.

Next visit Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall the driver that you ran.

Now restart your system.

Please download this installer instead of the master setup utility.

Installer

If this download is a self-extracting zip, rename the file extension from exe to.zip.  I'm on a mobile device so I can't check this for you at the moment.

Once the file extension has been changed, right click on it and select extract.

Note, file extensions are set hidden by default in Windows 7, so you may need to use the View menu in Windows explorer and enable the checkbox show file extensions to see the extension.

Once the .zip file has been extracted, open and run setup.  Look closely at the page that displays there might be a check box down at the bottom that says you don't have an internet connection. Make sure you click that before pressing next or OK.

Do not connect the printer until prompted to do so by the installer.

I will verify the steps above when I am back home.

Let us know if this helps.  😉
