Could someone please suggest a fix for this? Its only happening with black ink.

This is a physical problem and not related to your windows OS.
Can you provide some history please.
Just started happening?
Started after I changed my FINE ink cartridge?
Started after I had a paper jam?
Did anything pre-empt the behavior?
Are you using Canon inks or 3rd party inks?
Have you performed a nozzle test pattern?
Can we see those results.
