PIXMA TR8620a - Printer Won't Print Certain Colors Even After Cleaning

Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble with my printer, and I’m hoping someone here might have some advice. The issue is that my printer won’t print certain colors no matter what I try. Here’s what I’ve done

  1. Used the printer’s built-in "clean" and "deep clean" functions multiple times, but the print quality hasn’t improved.
  2. Removed the printhead and cleaned it several times using hot water and a printhead cleaning kit. Each time, I flush out one ink, and it will print a few colors properly. However, if I clean another ink, the same issue happens—only a few colors print correctly while others don’t.
  3. Even after flushing all the inks, the problem persists. It seems like I can never get all colors to print simultaneously.

Has anyone else dealt with this before? Is this a sign that my printhead is beyond saving, or could it be an issue with the ink cartridges or the printer itself?

Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated!

If you have run several deep cleanings and still don't get a good nozzle check print it is very likely a print head problem. The fact that you have cleaned the head and still have the problem pretty much confirms a head problem.

I suspect you have spent a lot of money on ink so far. The reality of lower cost consumer printers, in my opinion, is that repair is rarely economical, if you can even get it.
Buying a new printer includes a complete set of ink. If you subtract the retail price of a complete set of ink from the cost of the printer you can compare with repair cost or a replacement head cost.
